This operation is in a group of aesthetic plastic surgeries of genitals. It is the procedure where posterior wall of vagina is reconstructed. Vaginal reconstructions can be more excessive when it comes to congenital and traumatic factors, or after certain diseases. In our polyclinic, we only do posterior vaginal wall constructions. Necessity for this operation occurs as a result of an expanded vaginal canal with weakened contractions. Such condition occurs due to multiple child-births and episiotomy.
CANDIDATES FOR THE PROCEDURE
Extended vaginal canal, weakened vaginal muscles, expressed scar after episiotomy with reduced quality of sexual life, are the reasons for this procedure.
PREPARATION FOR THE PROCEDURE
Before the vaginoplasty it is necessary to do standard blood and urine tests like complete blood count, coagulogram, blood glucose levels, urea and creatinine concentration, to record electrocardiogram (ECG). All these examinations can be done in our polyclinic.
ADMISSION TO POLYCLINIC
You can come to the polyclinic on the day of your surgery, or the day before. Before the surgery, the doctor will examine you and take anamnestic data and once again go through surgery details together with you.
This procedure is most frequently performed under the local anaesthesia, but general anaesthesia can be applied too, depending on agreement with your doctor.
The aim of this procedure is making vagina narrower in a way that vaginal posterior wall is removed and vaginal muscles tonified, with respecting the principles of plastic surgery. The procedure itself take approximately one hour.
IMMEDIATE POSTOPERATIVE PERIOD
After the surgery, you stay for another 2 days under our medical supervision with constant medical care and toilet of the operated area. During that time, bed-rest is required.
Two days later, you leave for home care with all the obtained instructions. Stitches used for this procedure self-degrade three weeks later, so sexual activity is not recommended during that period.
For the final result it is necessary to wait for another 2 months. It is very important to follow given instructions about postoperative care and hygiene to shorten recovery period and to achieve the best possible result.
