Moles, warts, scars and other skin changes often require surgical intervention, whether for aesthetic reasons, location on the body or because of symptoms which can arose suspicion of a more serious illness. Each above- mentioned skin change, requires surgeon’s or dermatologist’s examination, especially when it comes to moles, in order to plan the procedure in the best possible way.
If the changes are minor, then we talk about simple procedures which are performed ambulatory under local anaesthesia. Depending on the body part where the change is located, it is necessary to respect anatomical structures, skin lines, places of greatest skin tension as well as blood supply of a treated skin area, in order to achieve the best possible result.
If the changes are larger, the procedure includes some more demanding surgical techniques like use of local lobes or free skin transplants.
With minor surgical procedures, the recovery period lasts from one week to 10 days. If we talk about more complex surgical interventions, more frequent controls and swathing with a bit longer recovery period, will be needed.
