We are happy and proud that we have recognized Fra Ma Fu festival as a channel which can help the town of Daruvar in development of all kinds of tourism, as well as the one that we as an institution want to develop and that is medical tourism.
For three days we hung out with media representatives from across the region and we are already delighted to say that we will follow them in 2020 when the festival takes place again in the most beautiful small town of Croatia, Daruvar.
Fra Ma Fu festival was started in Virovitica by Croatian Association of Journalists and Study institute for journalism, culture and education in 2015. It is dedicated to a journalist, photojournalist, writer, poet and author of comic book screenplays, Franjo Martin Fuis (Virovitica 1903- Plitvice 1943), the most famous Croatian reporter of the 1930s and the originator of a tourist reporter who wrote under a pseudonym Fra Ma Fu. The festival enables nowadays journalists experience exchange and practical adjustment to requirements of contemporary journalism, recognizing Fuis’ talents with youngsters and their evaluation and encouragement. It gathers members of Coatian Association of Journalists and journalists from numerous newsrooms who want to learn and meet new colleagues and their experiences. Besides the journalists, Fra Ma Fu gathers cartoonists, writers, poets and photographers who share Fuis’ talents with daring curiosity, commitment to research and experimenting with new media. Festival programmes so far were held in Virovitica, Slatina, Pitomača, Križnica, Lukač, Višnjica, Fažana, Brijuni and this year is going to be held in Daruvar from September 20th till September 22nd 2020.
