Bojan Ignatovski, Ph.D., specialist in general surgery, subspecialist in plastic-reconstructive surgery, was born was born in Zletov (The Republic of North Macedonia) where he finished primary school. He enrolled gymnasium in Kočani and he graduated medicine on Medical faculty at University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” Skopje. During the study period, he dealt with scientific-research work and he actively participated in two student congresses (Opatija and Ohrid). He performed specialization in general surgery in University Hospital Centre Zagreb (Rebro) and he passed his final exam in 1980. From 1982. till 1990. he worked as a general surgeon in General county hospital Požega. During that period, he was performing education in pediatric surgery which he completed in Children’s Hospital Zagreb (Klaićeva) in 1988 and he also completed courses in microsurgery and traumatology in 1989/1990 in University Hospital Centre Zagreb (Rebro). In School of Medicine University of Zagreb, he finished post-graduate studies and defended his master’s thesis “Choice of drainage procedures in treating exogenous secretion in experimental pancreas transplantation” in 1989. During his education he had honour and opportunity to learn from world-class mentors where he noticed that plastic surgeons have a different approach to work. The proper expression of the human body as a form and resolving defects on it as well as fixing deformities which occurred after the trauma or surgery, became his main obsession. He has always loved art, he followed a sense of form and aesthetics, so while choosing the area of sub-specialisation, he joined his two passions into his life vocation. Due to that, dr. Ignatovski finished his sub-specialisation in plastic-reconstructive surgery in School of Medicine University of Zagreb, passed final exam and became a plastic surgeon. In France, he was on education from cosmetic surgery. He participated in Homeland war from August 1, 1991 to September 30, 1992. He actively participated in taking car of the wounded in Pakrac and Daruvar area. He has lived and worked in Daruvar since 1991. In 1992 he opened the first practice for plastic surgery in Croatia and in 1997 he opened Polyclinic for surgery, gynecology and plastic surgery Arcadia. By the end of 2018, he was the director of polyclinic, but from 2019 onwards he headed the leadership role to his daughter, Biljana. So far, he has published more than 20 professional and scientific papers in the fields of general, pediatric, plastic and cosmetic surgery. He is co-author of special edition of Diabetica Croatica. Bojan Ignatovski regularly attends congresses and seminars from plastic and cosmetic surgery where he often participates as a lecturer. He is a regular member of Croatian Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery since its establishment; of Croatian Medical Assembly and Croatian Medical Chamber. He is one of the most experienced surgeons in region and he still transfers his knowledge to his younger colleagues. He prefers operations where he can creatively express using his knowledge and years of experience. Dr. Ignatovski believes that a surgeon who specializes in aesthetics should be living a lifestyle that he suggests to his patients. One peaceful, well-balanced life that draws attention to little things. He likes travelling, spending time with his family and spending time in nature.
